Feel Sound.

Sound isn’t only something we hear. It is vibration. Sound travels through the air, but you may also sense it physically through your body. Vibroacoustic Therapy takes this relationship between sound and vibration and turns it into an immersive whole-body experience.

At Soul Recovery Service in Wauchope, Joel Mervyn-Jones offers Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy as an opportunity to become still, experience sound physically and allow your attention to settle into the body.

What Is Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Vibroacoustic Therapy uses low-frequency sound and vibration delivered through specialised equipment. Rest comfortably and be immersed in sound via headphones and our vibroacoustic bed.

Different frequencies may create different physical sensations as vibrations move through the body, while the accompanying sound creates an immersive listening environment. There isn’t anything you need to follow or accomplish – simply listen and feel.

Listening With the Whole Body

We rarely stop to notice its physical qualities. Vibroacoustic Therapy changes the way you pay attention. You might notice vibration in one area of your body more strongly than another, and changes in frequency may alter your experience throughout the session. With your awareness moving between music and acoustic vibration, you will be encouraged to focus on your breath and the physical sensation of resting.

When Stillness Doesn’t Come Easily

Being still is not always easy. Vibroacoustic sound therapy can help you put aside what has happened earlier in the day, what needs doing tomorrow, and the countless things in between as you focus on the present, bringing your attention back to the breath and the sound. Everyone’s experience is different and Joel will coach you according to your vision for wellness, body and soul.

Hold Space for Deep Rest

Joel tailors each session to you and your intentions to create an environment that supports relaxation. You don’t need to respond in a particular way. You may find the experience deeply restful. It may help you to enter a trance-like state of consciousness where transformative healing can begin.

Sound, Vibration and Being in Your Body

Vibration provides a physical point of awareness. You will feel sound, focusing on the sensation of being immersed in sound and frequency. Joel will support you as you notice your breath.

Why Experience Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Many people are interested in deep relaxation or may simply be curious about the effects of sound as a physical experience. Each person is unique and Joel will work with you throughout your journey.

Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy FAQs

What is Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Vibroacoustic Therapy combines audible sound with low-frequency vibration delivered through specialised equipment. Instead of only hearing the sound through your ears, you can also experience vibration physically through the body.

What does Vibroacoustic Therapy feel like?

Experiences vary. You may notice gentle vibrations in different areas of your body, with sensations changing as the frequencies and sounds change. For some people the experience is deeply restful.

Do I need to do anything during the session?

No particular technique is required. You can rest, listen, notice the vibration and allow yourself to experience the session without trying to achieve a particular result.

Is it the same as a sound bath?

Both involve sound as part of the experience, but Vibroacoustic Therapy specifically incorporates low-frequency vibration that can be physically experienced through specialised equipment.

What if I find a frequency or vibration uncomfortable?

Let Joel know. Communication and choice remain important throughout the session.

Is Vibroacoustic Therapy a medical treatment?

No. At Soul Recovery Service, Vibroacoustic Therapy is offered as a complementary wellbeing experience. It isn’t intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical or psychological conditions or replace appropriate healthcare.
